Personal Bio

My name is Aaron Rodriguez and I am a 28 year veteran with LAUSD.  I started teaching in 1997 and have taught kinder, third, fourth and fifth grades. I am currently a Magnet Coordinator at both Fletcher Drive Elementary and STEAM Magnet  and Saturn Street Elementary and Arts & Media Magnet.  I believe all students can learn and achieve academic success.  My philosophy of teaching is to create an environment that provides learning opportunities on a daily basis, that is conducive to active, engaged learning.  I believe that the most significant learning occurs in situations that are both meaningful and realistic.  I strive to be evidence-based, to create a safe space for learning and to make the educational experience fun for both the student and the teacher.  “By learning you will teach; by teaching you will learn” Latin proverb.
